NDIS FUNDING & SUPPORT COSTS

NDIS Estimate

Choose your supports and hours to estimate the funding budget needed. Published NDIS prices fill in automatically.

Funding needed is the estimated cost of your selected supports, assuming they are required and fundable. It does not predict eligibility or approved NDIS funding. NDIS support funding is separate from household income and is not added to your government support estimate.

1. Your estimate settings

All amounts in AUD

Melbourne uses the national rate. Use the service location, including any NDIS isolated-town reclassification.

Uses the 2026–27 pricing schedule effective 24 September 2026. Maximum prices are planning rates; your provider may charge less.

2. Choose your supports

Enter total hours each week, fortnight or month. For two 45-minute sessions per fortnight, enter 1.5 hours and “Each fortnight”. Add separate rows for different days or rates.

Your entries stay on this page and are not saved or sent by the calculator.

Funding budget for planning

Check each support against your plan, funding period, available budget and applicable claiming rules. A cost estimate does not mean that NDIS will fund it.

How this estimate works

What “funding needed” means

The estimate totals the cost of the supports and hours you select. NDIS approval is a separate assessment of your individual needs, supporting evidence and the funding criteria. There is no assumed approval rate, extra allowance or automatic funding based on a diagnosis. Unentered costs are excluded.

Recurring and one-off costs

Each row multiplies your hours or quantity × the rate for the selected support and service location. Weekly costs use 52 weeks per year, fortnightly costs use 26 fortnights, and monthly costs use 12 months. Recurring costs are prorated for the selected weeks; all entered one-off costs are included once in both the selected-period and annual estimates.

These are planning averages, not an invoice schedule. Costs are held constant, with no automatic allowance for holidays, cancellations or future price changes. Add separately billed travel, reports, equipment or other charges using “Other support”.

Use the right rate

Rates can differ by support item, time of service, provider and location. The current NDIS pricing schedules list maximum prices for NDIA-managed and plan-managed participants. Agreed prices may be lower. Dropdowns include common individual supports, not the full catalogue. Group supports, high-intensity care, accommodation and specialised claiming rules need a separate assessment. Published rates include any applicable GST. The calculator does not decide whether a support can be funded.

Official NDIS information

Rates checked 3 October 2026 against the 24 September 2026 schedule. Prices are a fixed snapshot, not a live feed. Always check the schedule applicable to your service date and the provider’s quote.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate an NDIS support budget?

Choose the included support types, enter hours or units and how often you need them, and select the relevant pricing settings. The calculator totals the planned support costs over your chosen period.

Can this calculator predict my NDIS approval amount?

No. A support cost estimate is a planning budget, not a predicted approval. The NDIA assesses individual circumstances and which supports can be funded.

Will my provider charge the price shown?

Published price limits and provider quotes can differ. Confirm the applicable support item, service date, location and agreed price with your provider before committing funds.
